Founder & Executive Director – Nebula Early Childhood Collaborative
Rebecca Armentrout is a Nationally Recognized Nurturing Parenting® Facilitator (Spring 2025) and National Trainer, with over two decades of experience supporting children, families, and the professionals who serve them. She began her journey in 2004 as a children’s facilitator and became a recognized trainer in 2011. In 2022, Rebecca became an Agency Trainer, expanding her impact by preparing others to deliver Nurturing Parenting® Programs with fidelity.
Rebecca’s work is informed by her involvement with Pamoja, a Swahili word meaning “together” or “in unity.” Pamoja represents a collaborative, culturally responsive approach to community engagement, honoring the collective wisdom and lived experiences of participants. In her practice, Rebecca uses Pamoja principles to ensure that Nurturing Parenting® Programs are applied with cultural humility, trauma-informed awareness, and deep respect for identity and community context. This approach helps ensure that program fidelity is maintained while also adapting to meet the unique needs and strengths of each family.
Rebecca founded Nebula Early Childhood Collaborative to be a place where all caregivers of children — including parents, early childhood professionals, and community members — can access reflective supervision, coaching, and professional development that honors who they are and the vital role they play. Nebula’s work blends relationship-based reflective practices, culturally attuned approaches, and collaborative learning to strengthen the early childhood workforce and family systems alike.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development and Parenting Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver, and a Master’s Degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. Over her 21-year career, Rebecca has worked in diverse roles including classroom teacher, director, family resource specialist, coach, workforce development specialist, and non-profit administrator — with expertise in finance, marketing, and strategic planning.
Her career includes leading early childhood programs in a variety of settings, such as spiritual institutions, Head Start, and therapeutic preschools within addiction recovery programs, where she developed a deep understanding of how trauma and resilience intersect in family systems. Since 2021, Rebecca has also served as a Community College Professor, preparing and inspiring future early childhood professionals.
Born and raised in Colorado, Rebecca sees her work in early childhood as a way to build a brighter future for the world. As a mother of two, she believes today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders and decision-makers, and approaches every child and caregiver with openness, acceptance, and a belief in their strengths and potential — bringing hope and healing to the communities she serves.
